The Sea Of Tranquility
It took them nearly four hours to prepare for their departure from Eagle. After a little more than 110 hours, Armstrong eventually went out into the landscape of the Sea of Tranquility. He also included a note that became an important part of the historic event: “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” It had been so intense that he left out the “a” he planned to say.

Exploring The Surface Of The Moon
About twenty minutes after leaving Eagle, Aldrin climbed down the small ladder and stepped out onto the moon’s surface. By that time, Armstrong had completed the installation of the television camera that would broadcast the view to millions of people around the world. The rest of the world was able to join them on this remarkable journey. Before returning to the lunar module, the astronauts began exploring the terrain around them and stayed for two and a half hours. That is, as far as we are aware, the official account of the story.
