However, the story that we are about to tell you is about a man that not only got his dream house but also he found something when exploring his property. Little did he know that what he was about to find, would change his life forever. But what did he find?

Christopher was intrigued and so, he started investigating his surroundings. He didn’t know, however, that going down the terrifying tunnel meant that there was no coming back. He kept on going when he was told by a police officer and a realtor not to go any further.

Once Cristopher had finally finished exploring and investigating his property, he had all the evidence needed to do the right thing and abandon that property to never come back. What could have he possibly found that made him take this decision?

The main character of our story goes by the name of Cristopher Wanliss, who bought a new property recently. The property was located on 16.5-hectare woodland fields. He was full of happiness and excitement to own a property that he could call his own. But what Cristopher didn’t know is that he was about to find something in that land.

A Tour Of His Land
Everything pointed that that house had been made for Cristopher, some may call it destiny. Before purchasing the property, he had gone on a tour of the same and its surroundings. Given that the weather was a little bit extreme that year, the had cut off some layers of the threes which made his property look even better.

Christopher had fallen in love with everything. The birdsongs, the sound of silence, the trees brushing against each other. He just loved everything. Once he got familiar with the property, is like his body and mind were going to the same place without thinking. That is until he came across something that caught his attention.

He felt like he was on cloud 9. Once he saw that object he decided to have a closer look, It looked small and dark, placed in what Christopher believed it was a hidden place. Maybe it was a tree? a smaller than normal tree or maybe older?

Well, those where Cristopher first guesses. However, he realized he was wrong once he got a closer look. He was excited but scared at the same time while he was exploring this object. He then tripped and fell into a 3-foot hole.

He was covered in mud and leaves when he recovered from the fall and felt the rush coming through. He deiced to calm himself and looked at what right in front. He saw something that surprised him and that he didn’t expect. Was it really a mine that he had just found right below his land? it seemed like it had been abandoned for a while, and he only choice was to investigate further

The mine looked like it was covered by moss on the outside which made it difficult to access the inside. Christopher couldn’t believe what was happening and he was so excited to start this new adventure that he rushed home to get a flashlight to explore the inside.

Christopher described this moment as follows “When we bought the house, nobody ever told us about the fact that the estate had a lot of mines on it. We just sort of stumbled upon the gold mine one day and that was it. When I first saw it, I was so excited that I almost fell over myself. The only thing that I could think about was Indiana Jones and underground railroads.”

Little he knew back then that embarking on this adventure would be a decision that we would later come to regret. He took his flashlight and went inside the mine. He was frozen and breathless when he saw something shining and sparkly on the walls. What was it?

The walls looked very old and not in a very good state, it seemed like they were going to break down at any time now. As Cristopher was walking through the mine, he would hear the echo of his own steps but he couldn’t stop thinking about the mine breaking down.

As he was getting closer to the walls, his first impulse was to run his hand along with that sparkling material that was calling him from the walls. And his first thought was: “What if this was gold?. However, it wouldn’t be long until he noticed something that would make his adventure take a totally unexpected turn.

Even if it was hot, the mine was cold on the inside and Cristopher realized that his steps had left footprints that made 4-inch indentations in the ground. It seemed like there was water coming from somewhere given that there were fresh pools on the inside. He was concerned because that didn’t mean good news.

The Sound Of An Echo
He did not know how to get out, he didn’t see the end of the tunnel. But he did see something, or was it, someone? Soon he would start hearing strange noises that would echo in the tunnel. Naturally, his adventurous soul decided to follow the sound. If only he had known to decide better…

No Light, No Warmth
He kept on going through the tunnel and noticed that there was no air, no light, and even worst, no warmth. Scared, he held his flashlight as strong as he could in case he encountered a surprise. The noise became more evident and he then heard the sound of metal and machinery.

Was he going crazy? Because he began to hear voices! He could not decipher what they were saying but afraid, he finally took courage and asked loudly: “Who’s there?”, but no one answered, just his echo. Cristopher was not going to give up and he kept going to discover who was hiding in that place.

Surrounded only by dirt, water, and echo, as he continued along the tunnel, his shoes would get deeper each step in the ground. He then spotted a ventilation system that seemed to be yellow and about to break down. The chains that were hanging from it also seemed to be old and molding.

A feeling of uneasiness took over Cristopher. He felt like there was odd and not positive energy down there with him. He knew that he shouldn’t be there and yet he kept walking and he followed the path of the water to see where was its source. Could have someone possibly lived there?

“The ambient temperature also seemed to suddenly drop all around me at this point, and I felt an even stronger negative presence ahead in the tunnel,” he said. After walking for 150 feet inside the tunnel, he finally turned around and found some light near the entrance.

His body paralyzed for a few seconds once he saw what he saw when he looked back. After a few seconds of shock, he jumped and got closer to the walls. He was beginning to feel claustrophobic as one of the chains began to move.

The chain was not moving smoothly as if it was touched by the wind, but quiet the contrary as if someone was strongly pushing it. His heart stopped an he started racing back to the entrance. He then knew that he had to tell someone about what he saw. But who could help him now ?

Of course he was terrified and he went home as fast as possible. The first thing he did, was to call the realtor to tell him about what he had just experienced. He first described to him what he had seen on the walls, that sparkle deep into the tunnel. The relator told him to stay calm and that someone would go to have a look

“When we went to ask about the place, we were finally told that the estate had actually been home to quite a lot of mining sites. A lot of mining was done in these hills at the turn of the century, and there are a lot of little mines that are scattered across the hills,” even tough he felt more relived after talking with his realtor, he became nervous and tense again and said “This cannot be happening!”

When the phone call with the realtor had come to an end, Cristopher was standing in the kitchen and suddenly the lights started to flicker. He was afraid, tense and he tried to calm himself, but his breath was coming faster by the second. Then everything went dark

He tried to fix the problem by turning on and off the light switch. But nothing happened. Instead a feeling of uneasiness took over him, a feeling that wasn’t there before. Then right after he felt a breeze in his face and directed the flashlight towards the thermostat

The temperature suddenly fell drastically and when he was breathing he could see the cloud forming. He told to himself: “How strange”. He decided to go back to the light switch maybe it was a fuse that blown?

He went to the light board and it seemed like everything was in place, the fuse looked okay, nothing was broken… He’s only option was trying to switch randomly different things to see if one could work. Fortunately for him it did work and he was extremely relieved

Cristopher told himself that it was all about a “faulty siring” but he couldn’t help but to still feel nervous, so he decided to head upstairs and get a glass of water. As soon as he got there, someone rang the bell, but who was it this time?

The person who had rang at his doorstep, was Mr Rudall, someone sent by Cristopher’s real estate agent. He was there to see what Cristipher had found and check the sparkling element that he had described to his landlord.

Soon, Cristopher directed Rudall to the main entrance and told him to be careful as they headed down to not hurt himself. Ad they were making their way trough the woods, it looked like a storm mas coming since the sky started to change color to a deep gray.

It was evident that Rudall was excited as he approached the substance to take a closer look, and when he faced Cristopher, he had the feeling that the mine was trying to tell him something. What Rudall wanted to tell Cristopher is that the mine was actually a gold mine constructed long time ago. When they inspected the walls they learned that the gold had been untouched. All the evidence pointed to the fact that rather than finish the work, the minors decided to abandon the site. But why?

Rudall told Cristopher that back in the day many rumours would arise regarding mining. But he had never heard about gold mine before he encountered this one. The only remaining question was why did the miners abandon this place? why didn’t they take the gold?

Cristopher was determined to find out the truth, and he was concerned about two things: finding the gold and the option that the mine might be hunted or possessed by external forces. He took all the courage he needed and took his flashlight with enough batteries to refill it and soon he was surrounded by darkness.

The first time that head been down alone in the mine, he had only managed to make it 150 feet into the dark tunnel. This time however, he knew that he had to keep going and not stop. He kept going up until 600 feet into the tunnel when he stambled upon a door, it was the water source.

He felt the chills as the water fell onto his face. His vision was limited when that happened, he took a deep breath and knocked on the door not really expecting an answer. He decided to open the door, and his jaw dropped once he saw what he saw

It seemed like that door was a portal to another dimension. Once he went through the door, the new room was freezing cold. The walls were cold and rough, more than the ones that were on the inside. The claustrophobia was kicking in and he felt like he had to leave that place sooner than later, but his flashlight showed him something different

What he first noticed, is that there were many different ruined objects that were together, but the combination didn’t make sense. He couldn’t help but ask himself : Why would anyone leave all of that stuff in that cold room?. Something wasn’t adding up and he was going to find out what.

Cristopher wanted to explore all the different items and then he spotted a bedspring that was old, broken and full of dust. This had shown him the answer he was looking for: clearly someone had lived there before but it seemed like the person still was. He couldn’t shake this thought of his mind and then he saw something else.

What he saw, was a brick that was hidden which was even more confusing. But who would need such a door inside a mine? It was clear that whatever it was, it had to be important. Cristopher decided to snoop a little bit more and he went towards the hole, but with no luck. As he was leaving the place, he saw something else on the walls

He saw with the help of the flashlights that there were some white scratches on the walls. He couldn’t decipher what was written exactly so he decided to look closer. He then was able to realize that there were 4 vertical lines which was very very strange.

He tried to inspect the lines running his hand over them and it seemed like they were made with fingernails that were strong enough to mark the cement. Someone clearly wanted out of that place and as Cristopher found something else, he knew his nightmare had become real

On another wall, he found more scratches but this time they weren’t lines, he couldn’t make up what it wa so he took a picture to try to figure it out later with the help of internet. Maybe he could find something that would answer his questions.

As if he hadn’t seen enough, something made him freeze but this time for real. There was someone else as he had predicted the first time he headed to the mine. He tried to follow the noise and directed his flashlight too, but there was nothing. He was staring at the scratches on the wall when he heard a metal noise and felt a cold wind on his shoulder

There was no warmth left inside of him and he had the feeling of just finishing a cold shower. Fisrt he felt like the cold wind was coming from behind, then from the front, but now he couldn’t tell anymore. The cold was suddenly coming from everywhere, and the wind getting more loud with every second passing. At this point, Cristopher ran for his life

He was shivering as he was running feeling cold as ice. He knew there was something wrong there and even if his brain was telling him to calm down, his body was heading towards the entrance of the mine. Finally he managed to find his way out and collapses after taking a deep breath

Nothing was moving, the trees were so calm, so peaceful. It’s as if they somehow knew what Cristopher had been throw. He ran to his house as if there was no tomorrow and decided to once and for all discover the truth about the mine.
