Christian Bale (Terminator Salvation)

Although Christian Bale achieved fame in the 2000s as Batman, people weren’t very delighted with his portrayal of John Connor in Terminator Salvation.

Since the series remained using the same time-travel technique, it made sense to depict the post-apocalyptic future that viewers had previously only seen in passing. Bale, however, proved to be a shallow lead, making the movie anything but the franchise’s “salvation” despite some fantastic VFX.

Halle Berry (Catwoman)

Halle Berry was at the top of the acting industry in the early 2000s after winning an Oscar for her performance in the romance movie Monster’s Ball in 2001. That is, until she played Catwoman.

Fans viewed the movie’s transformation of the adored antiheroine into something unrecognisable as heresy to DC’s source material. Berry should have been able to portray the role, but her appearance received more attention than a compelling plot.
