Ben Affleck (The Sum of All Fears)
The Jack Ryan franchise was revived in 2002 with Ben Affleck after three popular ’90s films, and many fans hold the movie partially responsible for the series’ decline in quality. This is not to argue that Affleck did poorly, but rather that he “merely sketches an outline for a role he still needs to grow into,” as critic Peter Travers so eloquently put it.
While John Krasinski presently stars in the Amazon show; Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit is currently headlined by Chris Pine.

Nicolas Cage (Ghost Rider)
Nicolas Cage is known for playing eccentric characters, but this didn’t make him a good choice for the role of Ghost Rider, a motorcycle-riding demon in the Marvel universe. Cage performed the part like…well, himself, not like a wounded and menacing soul.
On the plus side, Cage made a comeback with 2011’s Spirit of Vengeance, which made this movie seem inferior in comparison.
