2 large eggs
2/3 cup pumpkin puree
2 1/2 – 3 cups whole wheat flour

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. While the oven is heating up, line a baking tray with a silicone baking mat or baking paper – set aside. In a medium or large size bowl, beat the pumpkin puree, peanut butter, and both eggs. It is best to use an electric mixer on medium-high speed until the mixture is well combined. This will take around 1 -2 minutes. Gradually, add the 2 1/2 cups of whole wheat flour into the bowl. You should the speed to a slower speed until the batter is well mixed together. Continue using the additional 1/4 cup of flour until the dough is no longer sticky.

Once this is complete, lightly flour a surface where you can continue the process. Here you will begin kneading the dough approximately 3 -4 times until the texture is right. Next, take a rolling pin, you will need to roll the dough to roughly 1/4 inch thickness. Then take a cookie-cutter, cut out the desired amount of cookies you want, and then evenly place them onto the baking tray that you prepared earlier. There are loads of cookie cutter shapes that you can buy or make, depending on what you fancy for your beloved dog.

Once you have completed that, place the tray/s into the oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes or until the edges are golden brown in color. However, take note that baking time may vary depending on both the size and thickness of the treats that you prepared. The shape of the cookie-cutter may also influence your baking time, which is why its best to keep an out for them while the cookies are in the oven.

As soon as they are ready to be taken out of the oven, set them aside to cool completely.
